Book Group

Meets the 1st Saturday of each month at 3:00pm at Karen Collin’s home.
Our first book we are reading is ‘Bella’ and can be purchased at the Christian Outlet Store for $5.97. It is a smaller book so it is not too late to pick it up and read before we meet this Saturday, March 6th.  Bella is based on a motion picture, so we will be watching the movie, having some coffee, and comparing the movie to the book.  No need to bring anything, just come and enjoy a great afternoon with friends.

I started attending CHCC in February 2008.  After a few months, I felt ready to take part in a small group to get cross in center with 'share your faith journey' on top of it
better acquainted and more connected with my new church family. I became part of a group of 7 women, "The Gamewell Life Group".  We all seemed to bond quickly, showing care, support, comfort, and understanding to each other.  Like myself, my new friends are widows, therefore they have similar life challenges. They have been so supportive through my family losses the past 2 years, health issues, and helping me to keep stretching, be determined and have more confidence to stay focused on the challenges God has given me.

Being a praying church….. Pastor Mitch has stressed the importance of Cooks Hill Community being a ‘praying church’. Missions and our Missionaries are daily in need of prayer and here are some suggestions that were found on the Free Methodist website www.fmwm.org. Please pray for…..

Missionaries-
Relationship with God: awareness of His presence; Holy Spirit’s guidance; growth in their Christian walk; and protection from spiritual attack.   Effective ministry: open doors; discernment; genuine love for people; and contacts with people who need to know Jesus.   Relationships/family: Positive relationships with other missionaries and nationals; care for family both near and far; close friendships; and healthy marriages.   Daily life: Health and safety; cultural adjustment; language acquisition; and financial needs.
